Chapter 08 - Cleaning the hull 3

Finally, I believe I can now say the hull is ready. For the most part anyway as I noticed a couple of small spots that will need to be roughened up before its ready for the new wood, but that is minor. One of the small items I need to attend to is the little piece in the middle of the boat where presumably a bilge pump was attached. Most of the dust is in the trailer and will be disposed of.

Aft view. All that remains is the round mounting point of the pump (I think that's what is was). There is also a pipe running from the center of the boat to one of the drainage holes. That will still have to come out.

From the bow the pipe leading to the drainage hole is easier to see. It looks like it was glassed in so it will take a bit of grinding but it shouldn't be too difficult.

I looked at the dates for the previous two cleaning the hull posts and noticed an alarming trend. It seems that every post is just under a month after the previous one. 17 July, 12 August and now 9 September. Life has been keeping me very busy.

That's it for this update though as I'm tired and slightly sunburnt. The summer sun is back...
